Basement renovations in Peel Region

Peel Region — Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon — grew fastest of anywhere in the GTA, and its basements show it: huge tracts of 1970s–2000s housing with full-height unfinished basements, plus some of the strongest demand for legal second units in Ontario.

Both Mississauga and Brampton run formal second-unit registration programs, and Brampton in particular has made basement suites a mainstream part of its housing stock.
